And call safety and take pictures IMMEDITLY! And use a disposable camera to take pictures with(you have one in your truck right?) Digital and camera phones are good for sending pictures back to safety and dispatch but digital does not hold up in court. They can be disputed. Also try and take a picture of something that has the date and time on it first, like your qualcom screen or phone screen.

Trust me, one day when you dragged into court by an insurance company, you will be glad you did all that:biggrin_25525::biggrin_255:

Ya, good point DoubleR! Most companies give you an accident kit and in it is a disposable camera. Make sure you use it too.

I don't know what the policy for Werner. At the time of this typing I'm in orientation with Squire and we went over this sort of issue today.

We were told that issues like this happen and it "isn't the end of the world" and the best thing we can do is to be honest, which it seems you have been. That isn't to say it won't go on your report, but I think you made an honest mistake and did what you were supposed to do by reporting it and taking photos.

Don't let an honest mistake weigh you down. You didn't hurt anyone, or worse...

With the millions of hours that are worked yearly by pro drivers this is a very minor issue.

In the worst of issues, this may go on your DAC but won't make you an untouchable driver.

    Hope it turns out okay.

Just a side note in regards to reporting ANY incident. Years back I was in Michigan going to a delivery. A elderly woman in a Cadillac stopped in the road. I hit the brakes and stopped without hitting her. She for some reason decided it was a good idea to turn around in the middle of the road. As she was attempting to turn around she hit me. It did no damage at all to my truck, and broke her taillight out and scratched her trunk pretty good. She took off and didnt even acknowledge I was there! I wrote down her license plate, description of car, etc, and called the sheriffs dept. They came out and took a report. Two days later the Sheriffs Deputy called me and said that once the woman got home her husband asked her what happened to the car. She told him some truck hit me and kept on going! She didnt know what the name of the company was, but still it could have gotten ugly. Nothing ever became of it.

If you are on the probationary period then they are most likely going to fire you. Otherwise it probably depends on what kind of stink the customer raises and on the cost/damage to the truck.

They wont fire you..lol.. you will have to see safety ..then they will make a big deal of it..put you on 90 day probation.. and send you on your way... Werner hits every thing.. and safety knows this..and expects it..lol.. just look at their trucks.. bumpers beat up.. skirting cracked.. mirrors bent.. you will be fine.. just send macro.. take pics.. they will tell you what else they want you to do.
