Before I started driving truck, this guy in the town where I lived was always asking for money..one night after work, he asked me....I simply told him I didnt have anything to spare,(which I didnt..work was slow and my son was just born)...he yells at me..."you mean to tell me you work everyday and dont have any f^#*&ing money!"..i got mad at the time...but its funny now...especially seeing how he doesnt live around there anymore...he moved away after winning the lottery..go figure
Ive had many ask me for money. I feel bad for some, but agree most are there by their own doing. One guy asked for money for food, told him I didnt have any on me, which was true, I dont carry cash except for tolls. Bought the guy a dollar burger from mcdonalds. He got food, what he wanted. I wont give um money to feed their habit, but I remember going hungry. One of the many reasons I stay in my truck while parked at a t/s.
Last one I ran into was asking for money in the restroom while wiping his colostomy bag spill off the sink. Are you @#$! serious!?
There's a guy that hangs out at the Pilot in Atlanta, that has been trying to catch the bus for almost 3 years now!!!
I think they are just playing the odds. I see a lot more street-type people handing change and smokes to beggars then soccer mom's. Gotta admit, many drivers look more like street people then soccer mom's. So they will keep asking drivers.
