After you hook up the J1922 link, you will need to change the customer parameter, Powertrain Data Links to both the J1922 and J1939..........if the ECM will not allow you to reset this parameter to this setting...........then you'll have to flash the ECM with a flash file dated Mar 99 and set the parameter then. The J1922 and J1939 was used together for a short period of time in the early 70 pin engines, After Jan 00 everything went to just J1939

Hope you did not spend to much time changing wires over, Cat sells a 40 to 70 pin adaptor for engine upgrades, It only costs about $280 canadian.

I did ask my local Cat dealer about that. But they thought it was best not to have the extra connections to reduce the likely hood of a problem there. And I agreed. I was probably only 1 hour actually switching the pins. The C15 requires 2 sources of 12v power. splitting a wire off the one at the plug does not work. I had to string a whole new wire from the power solenoid in the dash to the ecm, with a 5amp fuse before I could get it started.

I really enjoyed that project. Just need to get this last bug taken care of. BTW we also swapped trans, 10 speed to an 18speed.

I have not got a chance to change my wiring yet. I will let you know. Thank You for the help Mr. Haney. You are a good man
