One of the reasons I left my home state. Hard to find a decent driving job up there. Company I was with on the Eastern side sold out to an outfit from WI then the mill we hauled out of closed then the terminal closed. Luckly I left before the mill closed having heard too many rumors.

Are you still with Calex now? And are things still as good as you state in your post? I've spoken with a couple of men there since January 2012 when YRC Glen Moore got sold off to Celadon. I didn't want to go to Celadon, thought better of myself than that horror stories of them. Don't really know anything about Celadon, just didn't seem right for me. However, back to Calex, I have spoken with them and have considered them but put them on the back burner while I've been working for Stan Koch & Sons on a Best Buy dedicated fleet. Your thoughts would be appreciated if your still with Calex.

Got up this morning in Santa Nella. Took a shower, had breakfast then Louie called. He told me my load and said to head down to Huron for my first pick up. He told me that he was waiting on the orders before he could send it to me. As I was pulling into my first pick up my load info came over my computer. 2 pick ups, Huron then up to Mendota to finish out. If it's like it was 3 weeks ago then I will spend all day and half the night getting the load on. I deliver Monday back in Milton.
In all the years I've been hauling produce out of central California, this was the first time sitting in Santa Nella that I didn't need to run the truck or APU. Boy was it good sleeping last night. Usually it's 95 degrees. It got down to 55 degrees both nights. -
Yes JohnBoy, I was directing the question to you about Calex. Thanks. I just did read the posts you said to look at, took me a minute to navigate the website... would have been just a little easier to say "yes"... If you look at my member since date you'll see that July 2012 date... just started using this website as a resource. And like most of the websites and forums related to the trucking industry its usually nothing more than a venting place for drivers to complain about their current situation. I don't put much stock in it, if you know what I mean? I was hoping to fish for some information from you as a current driver about Calex and your experiences with Calex. Thanks & drive safe!
