Did the physical and drug screen today. So barring any unforseen circumstances I'll be coming aboard on the 16th. This forum has been a great help. I was looking to change what I was doing and I think this is what I was looking for. Hopefully I'll be meeting you all very soon.

Good for you! One bit of advice, when you get your truck assigned to you, go over it with a fine tooth comb and write everything up that needs attention. It'll be taken care of before you are dispatched. We usually meet for coffee at Morts desk every Friday.....lol

Just be sure to move to the right part of the state for hiring purposes.

Well it's 6am and I'm waiting another 30 minutes to leave the T/A here at Greencastle, PA. I would have left by now to head up to Pottsville to deliver my watermelons from South Carolina but D.O.T. is having a field day at the weigh station a mile up the road. They've been there all night supporting this money maker they call a 72 hour check. I'm legal, but Murphy's law always follows me. I was up early this morning to get a couple of trailer clearance lights replaced that got knocked off by low tree's where I delivered the other day down in Hollywood. I didn't want to take any chances getting written up so I decided to get them replaced here. I have an 11am delivery time at one of the best grocery chains distribution center in the country. I figure I should be able to make the last 110 miles on time. See you all later.

A positive outlook goes a long way in this business. I happen to stumble upon a company that works great for me. Attitude does play a big part in everyday life. I was home the other day and my wife and I had a few errands to do, one being getting my phone replaced. To make a long story short, AT&T must have the worst customer service I have ever dealt with. My wife and I have been with them long before they where AT&T so you would think it means something after having the same account number for 15 years but seeing the name change 4 times. You would have thought we just signed up with them. Anyway, I never got my phone replaced because I had another month to go on my contract and they wanted me to buy my Blackberry at their store for $200 instead of at Best Buy for $15. Anyway. I wound up buying a new battery for it at a battery store for $40 and now I doubt I'll get a new Blackberry with a new contract anytime soon. Sometimes I look forward to getting some guy named Michael on the phone from India!

I am with AT&T too and have done the "India dance" as well. No fun. It is worse than DMV! Worst Customer Service I have ever seen. My contract is done, but my family is on the hook for another 16 months or I'd bail. I want a new phone, but don't want to get back in bed with them for 2 more years again!

We like the Atlantic Coast, but we like it all over FL.

Central FL, South, Gulf, Space Coast, Pan handle - which are better/best as concerns freight?. It wouldn't take much of a sales pitch to get the boss to move, and she is an r.n. so finding a job is not an issue for her

Well I'm home again. Very easy round this week. I unloaded in Hollywood Tuesday, deadheaded up to Fairfax SC for a load of watermelons to pick up on Wednesday. Delivered Thursday, went to the terminal for fuel/dispatch. Reloaded Thursday evening. Got home around 11:30 today. I deliver on Monday and have my reload info already for a load in Jacksonville going to Spartanburg SC (again).

I had the pleasure to load and run home with Garylobo. It's been a while since we ran together so it was very entertaining to say the least.
