No hurry, this is out of my price range :biggrin_2559:

I had a feeling the gears would be pretty steep. I'm guessing these are easily regeared civvy axles?

Be geared about like most small gas haulers. (Straight truck) . Think for what I think you want it will be a good fit. Good luck and have fun!

    I would call and make a offer! It's a 86 model. He's not getting 20 k for it.

Plus he's out in nowhere land in Lamar, CO :biggrin_2559:

I can get a M900 series truck in good running condition for $6k. That IH is worth about the same money.

I served in the 70s in a Combat Engineer unit. Most of our equipment was early 60s vintage or older. Whenever we went on a convoy of more than a few miles trucks would start dropping off with regularity.

We changed a lot of wheel seals, master cylinders and anything else with rubber components.

The older multi-fuels weren't exactly horsepower junkies and had their own problems. I would have to stick with something Cummins powered or IH if this guy will come down on the price a bunch.

Yeah, you're right about that. When I got to Germany where that unit had 250 Cummins in the 5 ton tractors, they felt like real big trucks.
