If they don't respond your prospective employer is supposed to report them. It's up to them if they want to hire you or not after that. SRT didn't respond to Landstar when I was applying, but LS accepted me anyway. Just tell the truth on your application and let the recruiter deal with collecting references. You probably won't be the first applicant with a reference from some company that doesn't respond.

They just emailed me this:
What is a VOE form? -
We are discussing two different topics in this thread so please let's not confuse them. A carrier is under NO obligation to speak to an ex-driver about anything. Most are good and will spend a few minutes helping you if they can. Then we have the request for information a carrier wanting to employ a driver will send to the old company! The old company is supposed to send in a reply. If they don't you follow the procedure set out in 386.12.
Bean Jr. Thanks this. -

What company are you applying for that one month makes a difference?

He says he has OTR experience prior tot his company, so perhaps he's trying to sign on with someone requiring a year of experience and his other employer was only for 11 months? That could be a big difference.Bean Jr. and JSanborn103 Thank this.

This. The VoE and signed release is faxed or emailed to your prior employers, they fill it out and return it to the sender for your qualification file.48Packard Thanks this.

So only companies can send that VOE? I can’t do it myself?
