okay close to the same setup here 2001 f350 11500gvw and i have a 32ft enclosed gooseneck but am buying a 40ft flatbed with 2 15000 pound axles just hope I can find enough work and I have my class A Cdl but not sure how much weight the truck can safely handle ... I just worry about not having enough brake

I am under 26k so I focus on the light stuff, breaking is not a issue, I am guessing if you have 2 15k axles there is where your breaks are however I don't have experience with them.

Yeah me either I'm also assuming the same thing.... I think you will be happy with your setup I used to pull a my 32fter loaded to the max with clay pots and decorative iron out of Laredo TX back to Memphis TN and the truck wanted to run about 70-75 never once had to put it in overdrive

Since you have a ipad check out the app genius scan. That what I use to send in my bill of landings. It uses your ipad camera to scan and send through email or fax. Works quite well.

    yeah right.

I learned a quick lesson that the dimensions are not always right nor the weight. The shipper may give the wrong info, the broker or company may assume it as one or another standard load but many times I would get there after being reassured that it was right, to find that it could not fit on the truck or was not even close in weight.

If you can ALWAYS confirm it with the shipper, even if you have to ask they measure it for you.

Ya I was picking up aircraft parts that they said the crate was 5ft tall and 10ft long. They gave me the measurements before they actually loaded the crate with some testing equipment that was actually 10ft tall instead. Still fit but wasn't fun driving through New York City with it.

Oh and watch out for tree loads. The tree people don't have a clue what those trees weigh.

Thinking about starting a Hot Shot service. Can someone tell me if its possible and legal to lease on with a trucking company and still do independent work through my own company under their authority?
    Thank you?
