Just wanted to clarify a few things in this thread that were slightly inaccurate. I just spoke with a Prime recruiter today in reference to their tanker division. My recruiter stated the miles are 1800-2200 per week at 48 cpm. At 2200 miles on the high end on a good week, that's about 1056/wk gross before taxes and deductions. Assuming you averaged 2200 miles all year, you're still at about 55k. Of course you have to take home time so those weeks will be less. Definitely seemed like i was being discouraged from going tanker, i could tell he was trying to sell the reefer division. Nice guy, BUT would NOT put anything in writing and also stated i could be home every weekend if I wanted, which seemed like a stretch. I figured they won't put anything in writing because it would be grounds to dismiss the payment for the school if you left within a year if you got an attorney and could prove that material facts about job were false. It's still a good opportunity to make 50-55k, but I don't see 60k at all if you're new and not a trainer.
Yo China I wanted you to know prime tanker is almost out of business. They ordered new walkers a month ago but sent a small portion of the order to another location to collect dust because they have no work for them. Oakley and Indian river is kicking the #### out of them on contracts.
Y'all speculating or speaking facts because I'm on the tanker side and haven't seen a slow down in freight or didn't hear about losing accounts
What them not making money got to do with prime will no longer have a tanker division. Well in the month of January I made over 12 grand before taxes but I train only TNT and I don't mind showing check stubs plus I'm a company driver.
