This is old information that Is way out of date.
you no longer turn in your paperwork at the yard unless your going home.
You now drop your paperwork in a overnight Fed Ex box and you get paid the next day 99 percent of the time by 12 pm.
I never had a unit with a non working ac. and when one did break down they fixed it.
90 percent of all loads coming back out of California is in Perris ca and its a drop and hook in and out in 20 minutes with a load under 20thousand lbs going to Orlando for another drop and hook of an empty trailer.
your spending less time picking up produce out west now.

This gave me a ray of hope. I too am a felon (sexual conviction almost ten years ago, registered as tier 2 in California) and am getting my CDL and the first few companies I've contacted said no. One even hung up on me when I got to the disclosure part (I was up-front because I didn't want to waste my or their time). I'm getting really discouraged so far but from what I've been reading Carolina Cargo might give me a chance. Do they hire out of California though? I'm in the Sacramento area although I may not end up staying here.

They recently hired a felon that lives in Las Vegas. They do California turnarounds from the Carolinas, so hopefully they will work with you.

Do they hire students per say. I have my CDL permit, but since I had very little training with the backing portion of the test, I couldn't get past that. Have only 5weeks on the road, but know I can do this with the right opportunity. Any help or suggestions greatly appreciated. See my previous post under my profile will explain more.

Unless you have a felony or DUI there's no need to work for .10 a mile. None at all. Use your heads. Carolina Cargo takes advantage of drivers by paying them .10 per mile, old equipment, etc. They are the literal bottom of the barrel
