Hard drive suggested to get rid of that mount and get a 27" shaft on my predator...Tryin to understand why though..
Lowering the coil hurts performance does it not

The BR 29 has a16 in. shaft which gets the 2 in. flat coils high enough to clear the glass and fiberglass. I also used one of those coil mounting springs which gains appx 4 more inches of height.
Also, it needs to be slanted forward about 45 degrees.

Here is everything (I can think of) I think. All in one place.

    Cascadia 2015
This set up solved my CB problem. I'M now getting swr's of .25 :1 on channels 1 through 40 consistently.
I'm using Cobra 29LX peaked and tuned. Browning BR29 Antenna on a 2 bolt mirror mount polished not coated for a solid ground. 18 ft. Heavy duty coax cable. Lift hood and run coax thru the fire wall at the passenger side floor. There is a rubber plug that pops out. Cut an x in the center of the plug. Run coax thru that.

Using Road King 54 Telex mic.

All of that for 5 miles. You should get more than that.

That's my first check. I'm just happy to have my swr's below 2.25 with only 1 mile. Maybe I can save someone with a 2015 Cascadia the trouble I went through. I don't know if you saw that my swr's are no .25 all channels. I don't see that anywhere here.

If swr's is over 3 I get a warning. Can't that do damage to your radio? Why is that not important?

All I know is what I'm reading on the meter. I hope it helps.

I just covered the shaft and coil on my coil antenna, but for the 102" I covered the whole 102"
