Have you tried retorquing your head bolts after a little while?

Yep, I retorqued them myself. The problem is the workmanship that the dealers have done. First head gasket blew out at the back of #6. The #6 liner was replaced, but the liner protrusion wasn't checked as I requested. Three months later #4 and #6 let loose due to #4 dropping. A complete gold overhaul was done including resurfacing the head and new head bolts. Then 11 months later #6 let loose again to find extremely high liner protrusion on all cylinders and smashed coolant tubes on #6 which caused the engine to overheat on #6 and blow out the gasket. I just got done fighting with corporate CAT and the dealer that did the overhaul...I won and got a fair share of my money back.

Was this all done at one cat shop? Or a stealership? And who are they? I don't want to take my truck there, if I'm ever in the neighborhood.

I dont know where your getting your prices from but 6.0 head stud kits because you can get an 18mm black onyx gasket kit with a set of ARP studs for that motor for 630 bucks.

All done at CAT shops. Ohio CAT in Perrysburg, OH and then Alban CAT in Winchester, VA. I will say that Alban did take responsibility for their actions and were very accomodating to correcting the problem. As for Ohio CAT...not so much and they will never see another peice of my equipment

PT- I had a MXS truck through here about a year ago...was going through head gaskets at similar rate....replaced head, 1st with reman and then with new...new bolts also...long story short had to pull all liners to find problem.....block was warped if you cross it out diagonally....liner protrusion measured good...but block was warped...did not find till pulled all 6....replaced block ...truck is still going strong no issues....
