I will try to find the block numbers later
It’s not at my main shop
Thanks for the help this far

That valve cover is going to be a 4MG or a 5KJ.

He said 7E5888 pump so if it’s the matching valve cover to the pump has to be 5KJ serial number

    W923 and Oxbow Thank this.

I can’t find anything but a rust spot where I think the tag used to be on the side of the block. I am not the best on cat but isn’t stamped on the block somewhere

Between 5&6 cylinder on exhaust side. You have to really dig sometimes

    J01290
Seems to be the number stamped in the block between 5-6 though it would be under the tag like all there old construction stuff

    Oxbow Thanks this.

I’m betting it’s 3ZJ01290. Probably the most common of the mechanical.

    spsauerland and Oxbow Thank this.

    It’s a 3zj
Mistook the z for a star like it had on the other end 7559EAF0-A322-4D81-85FB-0EAA6074E22D.jpeg Grrrrrr. Guess the guy at the salvage yard hadn’t heard oil pans aren’t a lifting point

I gave my timing advance a little tlc and pin timed it on the fast side. starting and smoke and blubbering on acceleration are much better. The pump cam is pn 4p4698 and has 10.4 degrees etched on it
    Pump is a 7e5888.
I was going to borrow a timing light from a tractor pulling friend and see what it’s at and how the advance behaves. What does anyone with more experience than me recommend for timing and advance adjustment. engine sn is 3zj01290 internals apear to be original and still has the aluminum head spacer.
