I haven't nosed in yet, as none of the issues that I mentioned have bothered me yet. Although that mini-earthquake in PA this morning woke me up; I thought someone hit my truck! As for the landscape, there's a good view on the back row at the TS where I am right now. I thought about nosing in, but I might bobtail over to a grocery store later and it would be more work to get turned around to unhook :)

Not to mention if you nose in with a van or reefer you stick way out in the way.

Earthquake in PA? What is this world coming too!

I liked nosing in most of the time. Allows you to keep your curtains open and enjoy the view if you are in a decent area. Course there is a lot of good action to watch in a truck stop parking lot too!

    Ok, I nosed in.

Here's the view through my (dirty) windshield:

Drove 580 miles yesterday; spent the night at a large independent truckstop off US61 in Taylor, MO (north of Mark Twain's Hannibal); very clean and a good restaurant.

About 200 miles remain to the destination and the consignee allows overight parking; they start unloading at 0600. Another option is a Pilot or FJ about 10 miles away. I'll decide when I approach the area.

If you park at the TS, then you'll have to start your 14 when you leave to head for the consignee, instead of starting it when you head inside to get the BOL signed after you're unloaded :)

Exactly. That is the advantage to parking at the consignee (or the shipper for that matter). Thanks :)

After a little more than 3 weeks and about 8000 miles, the new HVAC blower motor has stopped working. Same thing as last time - the aircon compressor still works but no forced air. Called maintenance; they said, "Did you try hitting it?" Seriously. Put the fan switch on high, hit the panel under the key, turn the key on and continue hitting it until the fan starts working. Those were the instructions. Tried it. Didn't work.

Now I have hit things in the past to make them work - most notably starter motors, especially on Chevy 350 engines. So the information wasn't a complete surprise; just seemed a little funny coming officially from the maintenance department of a large company.

Anyway, called maintenance back and they sent a message to my fleet manager asking for permission to get the truck fixed after my delivery tomorrow morning.

Now at the FJ in Elk Run Heights (Waterloo), IA, where there happens to be an International dealer 8 miles from here. I plan to head over to the consignee in Independence (about 20 miles away as it turns out) after finishing up some laundry and grabbing a shower.

Hey perpetual, I got my blower motor replaced on my prostar when i got home after meeting you at Gary. It went out in Alabama. I got it fixed on home time no more than 4,000 miles ago, its hasn't gone out again but it has DEFINITELY slowed down. I turn it on high and it blows as if I had it on low

I like prostar and am surprised at the power it has going up hills, but its a cheap Aero hunk of junk that would make use of itself as a home for fish in a reef.....even then they may rather sleep in an hole filled with eels than to make a home in the truck lol.

I still vote they replace all prostars on the flatbed fleet with Pete 389 gliders...600+ horses...oh and 13 speed transmissions
