I am not female, and no longer with Central, but I know that when I was there they had female trainers, and a few male trainers that would train females.
If you read thru here miles are hit or miss right now. It is the first quarter of the year and historically miles are down this quarter, even without our current economic issues.
Most seem to be getting 2000-2800 miles a week though.
Honestly Central should not be hiring at all. They have too many drivers for the freight, but they make too much money from the school and the low wages on starting drivers to stop.
Plus, while industry wide turnover is way down, Central still has managed to have over 100% turnover.

after become a comp. driver you will be making 0.28 a mile . after 6 months will be 0.29 and another 6 months later 0.30 . you will be making $450 a week during 28 days over the road training.

Central seems to be one of the better starter companies right now. Their training pay is higher than most and their $0.28/mile pay is also a few cents more than some of the others are paying newbies.

I have heard a few negatives regarding some of the things Central deducts from your pay but all in all, I think from my point of view as somebody who is looking to get a start in trucking, this is probably one of the better companies to start with. You don't see near as many negative posts about Central than some others. Just my opinion.

Thanks for the information. The miles are better than swift trucking. I think I will go with Central.

Widow and Lady, thanks for the offers to sit down with me and walk thru the facebook thingy. Will see about calling 1 of ya'll tomorrow while the beast is getting a PM. Just to tired to worry bout it now.
Devildog, when you ask about pay, the next question you need to ask is "how much of that, if any, is per diem"? Thats the latest scam that the big companies are running now.
Hot wings, hopefully Smdronia (I know, I know that I probably misspelled it but I'm just a guy and can't be expected to have my act together. lol) will be back on here soon and can answer all your questions.

.08 cpm is perdiem, so while you are taking home .28cpm you are really only making .20 cpm. Since the .08 is yours at tax time anyway.
