Has anyone heard anything about Cooley Transportation in Tupelo, Ms which is 8 miles from my home. They have actually offered a chance to go back OTR without a contract but the pay of .35 a mile seems very low compared to most companies. Say they average 2500 miles weekly.

The trucks are well equipped with refrigerator and inverters. They change them out every 3 years. They have a 400 truck fleet so 100 new tractors are bought every year. They run KW 680, Freightliner Cascadia and Volvo 760 and 8 whatever the big uns are. Those are mainly for teams though. All automatics.

The main thing I didn't like was broker loads for backhauls and Brooklyn deliveries to one of their main customers. Extra $50 for any NYC pickup or delivery in addition to the extra 10 CPM for the NE.

No, stay away from them. They sell you a whole lot of nothing, the equipmentsucks and if you expect to make money you will not. I am not trying to discourage you from Trucking just KLLM! They are cattle runners(drivers are numbers) they don't try to get to know their drivers. Just pull their torn up trailers, get spoken to like a child and if you don't fall in line and do what you are told your paycheck will be just enough to purchase a bottle of water.
