    most likely! But, I've spent the last fourten years workin two fields simultaneously that taught me one thing (among many!), and that's that work you love doing often does not pay well when you look at it in the traditional "40 hour" sense. Going the "extra mile" at something you love doing isn't going extra at all, it's just doing.

    well, congratulations, then. i figure i make a lot more than most big-company drivers, but i have alotta hours and miles per trip. my job would never be advertised, and people would never get recruited for it. drove for U.S. Xpress for just a few weeks -- once I realized that I left something that paid three times as much, even though it was a lower rate per mile, I was outta there! For some reason, I had bought into the idea that a bigger company was better for per-mile pay and benefits, but I was way off. Hence my comment about Con-Way. ... But I have no idea about that company in particular.
