I guess they also want us to just throw down the red carpet for them, since they apparently think they own the highway and are entitled to 'respect'. I didn't know that I was supposed to drive everyone elses truck on top of my own.

Oh no please don't back out. don't be a little school girl and go run home to daddy. you opened you mouth take what you get....I don't bull #### around and you want to say driving is not big deal. Its drivers with that mind set that have ruined this industry. Me I live to truck. Its not a job to me. Its not just some pay check. I take pride in trucking. I show respect to drivers intill they do stupid crap like you are doing here......And when I say I will do something I mean it. Your right on one point. There aint much in my life other than my wife and trucking. Its what I know and love and I will fight tooth and nail to protect both.....so please don't bow down be a man, either learn to understand what trucking is or quit and get a desk job. trucking is a major deal. you have to know your limits, and not just what dot says. you have to be man enough to say I have to stop or I have to go. You have to be skilled enough to drive that rig down the highway and do what needs done. and for Christ almighty take some #### pride in what you do....I mean really most every thing bought in a store was on a truck. We go thru hell some days to get freight where it needs to be. we deal with ### hole 4 wheeler all day, we don't need ### hole wheel holders who don't like trucking and do it for a paycheck screwing it up even more....But yet people like you get pushed through some jb hunt swift or other BS school that teach you how to make a truck move and have no idea what trucking is. You got my truck details short of the signs on the door, Im in Ky right now at the loves on 71 Ill update my location daily iv needed, you opened your mouth and asked someone to "correct" you at the truck stop so by all means Ill correct you. You want to be a trucker learn driver learn.

First I was not calling you a Liar, Just stating that I have never seen a truck that the headlights did not turn off and that even the ones I have seen with daylight running lights dimmed down real low.second I DONT need help passing I got plenty of motor that if I am unsure I can pedal down and make sure. third I can put a truck place most would not dare. As for you being local and passing you means id be doing 5 over well first passing local these days is a pain since people cant stay out of the passing lane in the cities second 5 over is not that bad but if me passing you 5 mph over the limit upsets you than please get on the radio and let me know if you see me and I will back it down. personal I respect local drivers that tell me I need to back it down a lot, they know the area better and know how traffic does, but I did not get the title the green machine for nothing up in Chicago land for nothing...lol As for the respect is earned not given that wrong in a way. You have to give some respect to earn it also. I understand what you meant by it but you have to give alittle also

Thanks for clarifying. You came across as having a really bad attitude in that reply. And yes, my trucks lights won't dim or cut off until I set the parking brake. I don't drive a Crapcadia either. It's a '03 Mack daycab. My company also does not put in CBs in their trucks, so I can't talk to you. But you should already know that speeding in any kind of vehicle is not a good idea. I'm sorry that you feel differently on the subject, but don't expect me or anyone else to drive your truck. The bottom line is that it's up to you to determine when it's safe to merge, and not the driver you're passing. Like I said, if you can't tell at night whether or not you're clear, you don't need to be driving at night. Time and time again I get idiots that come across the hood of my truck when changing lanes, and this is another reason why I won't 'help' anyone.

Like I said I don't need help. I like it just for the sign of another driver caring but don't need it. What I cant stand is when someone highbeams. If they cant turn them off don't do anything or flash the marker lights if you have a button for that or four ways. but highbeaming is causing wrecks and is going to kill someone one of these days

I agree about the highbeams. When someone flashes their highbeams at me I will usually 'thank' them with brake lights. LOL

I remember the days of professional courtesy, but after reading this thread, it appears those days are long gone. At one time, truckers went out of their way to help their fellow drivers, whether it was giving an all safe when passing, following at a safe distance, and being respectful of each other. I still try to do this, but it amazes me anymore at the level of selfishness that has hit the industry. I guess a safe distance for passing and pulling over in front of me is 25 feet or so at 65 mph. I have the interrupt for the headlights, and that is what I use now. My old truck did not have it, so high beams got used if there was no response on the CB.

Whoever you drive for and what you drive is not nearly as important as how you drive. Be safe, people.

And what we are saying is that we would prefer you to not do anything at all instead of flashing high beams. I understand you're trying to be courteous, but flashing highbeams at night does more harm than good.

Did you see the part about the truck being my old truck? No longer is that the case, so it's a moot point.

IMO, there are a lot of other light flashes that are worse, like highway road signs, oncoming traffic, improperly adjusted headlights and the like to be concerned over a flicker of high beams, but that's just me.
