There was a few dealers who said they had people back out but they were able to find buyers for them. The question is how much pent up demand is there that will soak up all the buyers who backed out. Eventually buyers for a $115K trailer will dry up. But I was surprised as I thought with the weaker freight market more inventory would be available but nothing has changed and everyone told me the inventory shortage will continue into 2023 with the indication of higher prices.
Heck one dealer had 6 trailers on the lot but have been waiting for a TK S700 units since June 1, so it's the chicken or egg thing too.
I don't know what the deal is on the 2 that might be available. Heck they might not even be available but the buyer has until Friday to agree to take them or they are up for grabs. -
Well those 2 trailers are available....the buyer couldn't get financing on a couple of $130K trailers....shocking I know in this market. So I'm waiting to see what kind of trade in they will give me for my 2019 GD. I'm suspecting a very low ball offer but maybe they want just want some used inventory. I do think it would be easier to sell a $80K trailer as opposed to a $130K in this market. There can only be a handful of people out there in this market looking to spend $130K on a trailer. Heck I'm not even sure I want to spend that much.

I like thermoking more, but I've only done reefer for 22 months. They seem to shut themselves down less. -

Well I can tell you the dealers are valuing trade-ins as if there's not shortage. A dealer this week said they would give me $60K for my 2019 GD w/ a S600 TK.
There's a 2019 GD w/ a C600 TK up for auction at Taylor Martin this week so I'm interested to what that goes for. I truly don't know what the trade in should be but $60K seems low specifically when that same trailer would cost $117K today.RefMata, larry2903 and Midwest Trucker Thank this. -

I thought so too considering 6 months ago I traded in an identical 2018 and got $68K. I was expecting $70K to $80K. Plus thats where I'd want to be on any deal.
Midwest Trucker Thanks this. -
I remember back in 2015 the food service company I was with said their custom spec'd 48ft Danes were 86k. 3 side doors, ramp, 2 zone with the big TK. Can't imagine what they are now

I’ve yet to see one make it much past 10k hours without major work being done
