Half of the west coast loads I was ever offered was when I was trying to get home. I knew if I was in Omaha and trying to get home they would offer me a Tracy load.

Well make it number 4 with less than 400 miles! I had asked for a preplan while still being unloaded at Menards in Washington, IL (by Peoria) and they gave me a Menards-Plano to Lansing, MI. Seeings how it was a 50% deadhead run I went ahead and took it. I figured there wouldn't be much better coming. So here I sit in Plano with two other Cretens. One has been here all day waiting for his trailer, the other out of hours. The second delivered here but has been sitting because there were no MTs. He finally got a load but it's not scheduled till tomorrow delivering Monday. So I will count my blessings since my trlr is ready and I can deliver fairly early tomorrow. Since I know darn good and well they will send me to Mecosta water up in Stanwood for my next load. I punked out on the last two times they tried to send me to Stanwood so I might just have to take my lumps this time.

On my way up to Stanwood from CBUS in the am (4th time this year). Because the company decided it's better to run 360 empty miles rather than take one of the loaded trailers on the yard. Go figure.

I'm not so sure it's a "test", but a way to try and keep you "from" going home. As any of us experienced drivers know, in reality, a lot of dm's and planners probably would LOVE IT if we never wanted to go home...

As long as you're runnin'! I've never been stuck at Stanwood too long....I think 70 minutes is about the longest....

Odds are that you'll get a 350 mile load from Stanwood to Illinois. And Illinois has great freight.

I'd have been screaming. Oh, I did. And they sent me west! I've had a few of those streaks. I need to go back to my paper records and look at them....but I doubt I'd break this record!:biggrin_2552:

My next longest streaks were only 5 twice and 4 three times.

I just came from Illinois. I hope it's better than this load!

I'm starting my list now! Including deadhead: 418 (only because they paid me 34 miles to get to Wilmer for a random UA), 344, 371, 371. I'm getting unloaded in Lansing, MI as we speak.

    tucker and xlsdraw Thank this.
