Heading up I35 this morning after a bit of a thunder storm I got behind a slow Maverick flat bed south of Des Moines. He had a mixed load, not tarped but some of it in big plastic bags, everything looking pretty wet. Didn't seem to be strapped very well. I had to pull into the weigh station but about an hour later saw the back section of his load in the right hand lane. He was about half a mile further crawling up the shoulder apparently heading for the rest area. I kind of wonder what he was thinking.

Another 400 miler tomorrow, after the ........,,,,,,........ 400 miler I had today. Today after my empty call, I said I was tight on hours and would be ready in the morning. Now, I had 2 choices, head to a truck stop 16 miles away, with nothing around it, and probably in the direction of my next load,..........or the one 29 miles away, with cool stuff around it.
5 miles from my exit, I get the preplan, yup..... Backtrack 28 miles in the morning.

Well I got a better load after I declined the WA state. They sent me a Fresno to Dallas load...surprise surprise! I accepted it then got a closer look. The del time was 08/07@08:45 to 08/08@08:45 so I sent in a message to make sure that was a window. They sent back 08/07. So I shot them a message of "Oh goodie an all day drop" No such luck. It's a 08/07@08:45 live unload. That normally wouldn't be a problem but the p/u is 156 miles away and only 26 hours to make it there! :biggrin_25526:

So I'm staged in Madera at the Pilot on US99; 36 miles from the shipper and I hope they will load me earlier than 15:30 or it will mean some long night driving which I don't do very well. 1562 miles in 2.5 days. I burned through my hours coming out here so it looks like I will be doing the same going back. The way I have it figured is I have one, maybe two hours of safety net should anything go wrong.

Hey maybe they will cut me loose on Thursday after I deliver instead of the following Monday as planned :biggrin_25525:

How can you even consider leaving with great loads like that?
Most of my loads are short, with way too much time on them.

looks like IHOP for breakfast. Mmmm.

I'll be 3,000 over for my b service after this load. I offered to tcall a load at Indy, that still had 540 miles on it, with an anytime drop, and plenty of time to do it by the cutoff. They said NO, so the gals in Lincoln have to get me to a shop now, because, I just don't care about it .

    Earnhart sucks, terrible race today.

i cleaned the truck yesterday, armor all must have got on the cig plug, every bump the plug falls out and I lose the Sat radio. When will they make a better plug???? I would, but......

It never fails......parked yesterday afternoon for an extended 10hr break and was nodding off when a loud lawnmower engine sound is vibrating thru my head,,,,I get up and open the curtains, (Just 1700) and this jackwagon CRST reefer is right next to me.....I look around and there was 70 plus parking spots all over that this idiot could park but wanted to cozy up next to my dry van. I was pissed, I lay on the air horn to get the drivers attention who turned out to be an older women and I told her she must have lost her mind parkin that noisy sob next to my head when she couldve parked anywhere else as it was still early. (Her response was She did not feel safe parking away from other trks) WHAT A MORON ! I CLIMB BACK IN THE SEAT AND REPARK AGAIN TO BE BY MYSELF.

I'm running a 75-mile shag off the Indy yard in the morning, followed by 92 miles to Fort Wayne to pick up and roll to Hastings, NE...970-some miles from 6AM tomorrow til 1500 Tuesday afternoon.

Easily in fact! I think about two or three days off each week. Sleeping in my own bed at night...every night.well ok maybe not every night. There has to be some lonely phillies around them parts. Then I think about making 50% mo' monies :hello1:
Man ol' June Bug's been doing pretty good this year...wha' happen?
