Good Luck with the scales. If you have to run the back roads to avoid the scales will they pay you the extra miles?
Misting a little bit here this morning and the squirrels were all very active. I ended up getting 6 of them. Good eats for lunch today.

You guys want some fun take IN39S from the Flying J in Lebanon
Always nice when you get well down a road and then come upon signs blocking half the road saying road closed to through traffic, meanwhile you are on a tiny two lane road and just went through some 15 mph type curves. I got out of the truck and contemplated what to do, still early (ca. 0630). Luckily a car came along past the sign and I stopped it and asked about the road and the woman told me the road was open all the way through. What a relief. I squeezed by the signs and rolled on.
Got to WM and unfortunately I had a live unload which took a couple of hours. Got another load quickly picking up some pet food heading to south of Columbus for tomorrow. Probably going to stop and get A service done in Columbus so I don't have to worry about it coming back from hometime. -

Headed back out yesterday after some home time. Took the daughter to the circus and she got to ride an elephant for a bit so that was something different. Picked up a load down the road at the IAM's plant in Henderson, NC. Someone apparently didn't know how to distribute weight properly on a trailer so after finding I couldn't scale it out I had to go back and wait 3 hours before they reworked it. Had to use the last available hole the second time to get it passable but just barely. Had to live unload it at the IAM's plant in Leipsic, OH as they had no empties available, a rogue Crete driver just before me bobtailed in and snagged the last one
He did have an awesome beard though so I didn't sweat it too much. Passed another Crete driver leaving as I was coming in and found out he was headed to Lima to the P&G plant so I figured I was likely bound that way as well. Sure enough got the call to head to Lima for a load rolling into NYC for Tuesday afternoon. Figure I will just sleep in tomorrow and cross into the jungle in the early morning hours on Tuesday.

Called ahead to the NYC place and the guy said come on in early and we will get to you. Ha, well they got to me ok but not until over an hour after my regular appointment time. So I got to kill 5 hours or so before finishing up there and rolling out to eastern Long Island to pick up a load going back to Oklahoma. My first 1500+ load so far in nearly 3 months but I will say that I seem to be getting alot more longer runs in general than I was getting so everything is going well. Made it back out of the city and sitting in Mifflinville, PA tonight. You can probably scratch the ########### Pilot at exit 256 from your trucker's guide if you are any late at all. I did a quick U-turn out of that place and rolled on down 14 miles to where I sit with an extra TS that is not listed in the small guide along with a McD parking area as well.
Don't know if we get paid for dropping one load in NYC and then again for picking up another load in NYC. If so made out like gang busters today even with the long delay getting unloaded.Jayhawker Thanks this. -
A solid 600 mile day in the books. Decided to roll all the way to the Indy terminal so I can get my A service done and hopefully find out what is causing the excessive white smoke out of my exhaust when I am climbing hills while heavy.

Well got my A service done and as I expected I have an EGR problem so sitting at Cummins for that portion of the work. No wait to get in so hopefully it won't take too long to get back on the road.

Stopped in Joplin last night and finished my drop today in Paul's Valley, OK. Do yourself a favor if headed south of OK City from the north and take US177S as the road work south of OKC is a cluster ###. Got to the WM DC and of course out of all of the available trailers there I get assigned one with a nail in a tire. Fortunately there is a Loves across the interstate and I roll over there. They proceeded to try and plug it twice, both times putting the tire all the way on and then discovering it was still leaking. Finally just put on a new tire and here I sit. Good news is I got another 1500+ mile run, bad news is it ends in Rhode Island
I have been to the city it is in before and not really a big deal so all is good.
Jayhawker Thanks this.
