Reloaded in OKC without a hitch and headed back east on I44. A real pleasant driving day with the windows down and the outlaw country cranked up. Replenished supplies at WM along the way and stopped in Sullivan, MO. Checked the miles to Columbus and ain't going to be able to make it there tomorrow so plan on stopping in Eaton.

3073 miles (+100 or 200.00) Don't know if they pay 100 for both the delivery and then the new p/u in NYC or just once, will have to wait on paystub. Well another 3000+ week. So far I have not failed to reach 3000 miles over a 7 day period when I ran every day.
Can't reach customer tomorrow so will either stop in eastern PA or in Columbia, NJ and finish off the trip on Tuesday. Hopefully get another nice multiday run back west after that.

Things continuing to roll along pretty well. Got unloaded in North Kingstown, RI this afternoon and got a load picking up north of Boston heading back to the P&G in Brown's Summit for nearly an open delivery on Thursday which is cool. Made it back to Sturbridge, MA tonight and celebrated grabbing one of the few left spots with some pan fried noodles with seafood. Should be looking good to pick up another quick load out of the P&G plant when I drop this one. Solid start toward another good week.
Jayhawker Thanks this. -
Hey majestyk
Glad to see things going good, buddy of mine just started out about a month ago and was looking at Crete's home weekly fleet up here in PA but wanted to run reefers so signed on with Magnum out of Fargo. Anyway we have to meet up some day at a truckstop and pull out that grill and cook up some of that deer meat I promise you!!!!!!
Well if you see a J&R Schugel Int prostar with a team realtree front plate come bang on my door!!!!!!!Lamborghini Owner Op Thanks this. -
Hey bro, anytime you want to fire up a grill I am game, particularly when deer is involved
Looking to hit the woods at the end of the month so perhaps will have some fresh stuff on the way back out. Continued good luck over there at J&R.
Drizzling rain, cloudy up here in the NE. Making my way down to VA for tonight. Still got to deal with Baltimore and DC which as always is a blast especially with the added foolishness of the cars in the rain.Jayhawker Thanks this. -
Got the P&G load dropped off and picked up down the road in Greensboro, NC heading to Beech Island, SC. Perhaps could have made it down there tonight but would have been stuck as my hours were dwindling so I decided to pull up in Rock Hill and finish her out in the morning.
I will have to give some props to Bills truck stop diner (I85 exit 86, NC). I don't eat out alot but decided to give it a shot as they had fried catfish, hushpuppies and 2 vegetables for 6.95 which I thought was pretty reasonable. All of the food was very tasty and healthy portions (perhaps too healthyand the service was good.

Dropped at Beech Island this morning and picked up a load in Greenville at a place I have been to a couple of times. Heading to Little Rock for a Monday morning appt which is cool as I can get there tomorrow and take a 34 visiting my mom and hopefully some friends in the little town I grew up in down the road and perhaps even have a couple of brewskies to celebrate the old birthday on Sunday.

Not a bad week as I got to take a reset in my old hometown and visit my mom on my birthday yesterday as well as seeing some old friends that also happened to be in from out of town as well. A good time was had by all.
Picked up in Stuttgart, AR this morning heading to Hannibal, MO.

Got the Hannibal, MO unloaded reasonably quickly at the GM plant and got an immediate preplan to pick up at P&G in Edwardsville, IL heading to Dunn, NC. Stopped in Oak Creek, KY tonight and plan on making it to my house tomorrow night and finish up the short jaunt to Dunn on Thursday afternoon. So it looks like I will be home for Halloween so my little one can go out and obtain some candy for me
Jayhawker Thanks this. -
I spent the last hours reading every one of your posts... I am another "over-qualfied" from the corporate world, getting back in the truck after only 32 years off. I went back to college, got that BS in BA, and kept climing the corporate ladder until it broke under me.
Seems that nobody seems to really want a "seasoned" exec as they see me/us as a threat, maybe because we used to do their job, and could do it now better they they can.
But I digress, (and hijacked my own post)
Started reading your thread back in June, and that prompted me to want to get back in the truck. Got the ok from the wife, so I went back to CDL School in Des Moines, and most of it came back to me pretty quick. I scored pretty high in the class, and even higher for the CDL examiner, so that was a confidence builder. The last time I drove, it was a 1975 IHC COF4070B cabover w/ Cummins 350 9 speed, and a 42'reefer (under 55ft overall, no air ride, (Hendrickson suspension, can we say it was bumpy?) no power steering, and a 55mph speed limit. These new 400+hp 10/13 speed conventional cabs with air ride, driving 60-62mph in the right lane with the cruise on, an with no Smokey Fear seem a dream in comparison. The 53' trailers took some getting used to, especially on the right turns...
I report to Crete this Monday in Council Bluffs, IA. Kinda excited, after driving a desk all this time....
Anyway, I want to thank you for your time and diligence to give me a qualitative and quanitative analysis of your first few months back under load/on the road. I think I might start a new thread as a tribute to yours... Maybe call it "A Retread Returns..."Lamborghini Owner Op Thanks this.
