Also remember that the points reduce after each year by one third. Personally I wouldn't worry about it. What's done is done and these warnings are just an irritation. I've got too many for my liking this past year but with patience they will come off after 3 yrs. just another gimmick that keeps FMCSA on their power trip.
It goes off how many trucks you have and how many inspections you have I show eight inspections on mine and a few areas show some warnings but it's not showing anything bad....I wouldn't worry about it.
When you jump up to 80 or 90 points that's when some refuse to give you loads until it goes back down. We went thru a period like that then 6 months later the points came down and people that wouldn't load the truck came back again. They would sometimes make an exception in a pinch but you could forget calling them asking for anything. Yes the system sucks and there's no way to really fight bogus charges.
just goes to show you its not about safety, cop was an idiot dont worry bout points not enought to care about.
I went through 2 rest stops in PA at 2am looking for a spot, all full,.. finally at 3rd rest stop and eyes so heavy I didnt want to risk heading out again I found a spot between 2 other trucks on the exit ramp. I closed my curtains and went to sleep. At about 7am I hear a knock on the door. I peak through the side and I can see in the mirror the DOT van they use to do inspections, and I can see the old guy down below my door. I used the now empty Peek windshield bottle for what I was saving it for. I put my pants and shirt on. I wait for him to leave. The van backs about 10 trucks back and they pull out another driver. My truck had been idling all night, so I creep out and hit I80. Few miles up is an exit. I pull off and there is a KW dealer, I pull into their side lot. I update my log book, go back to sleep for a few more hours and then head back out. Never had any repercussions from that at all. Had I remembered to update my log book before I went to sleep I probably wouldnt have hesitated to open the door. Sometimes playing possum works. Hurst
