Just had my 2013 overhauled at 687k .
Using a gallon about every 1500 otherwise ran great .
    Tear down revealed .
    Carbon packed rings .
    Polished liners .
    Flaking cam and followers .
    Everything else looked good .
Good luck with Cummins, they've been trying to worm they're way out of this with 100 dollar a gallon oil and other excuses to get it out of warranty.
In the end its sorry we sold ya a POS wel do better next time .
Here's your 7k over haul kit with the cylinder packs we should have used to start with .

    Heavyd Thanks this.

early dd15 also had carbon packing issues. They added scraping ring inside of liner in 2015 . My friend has a Volvo with updated isx engine. He has 500k miles on engine and there is no oil consuming problems .

did you change liners to latest style ? I have heard latest liners have carbon scraper ring inside and pistons are little different.

Sorry, I was away from the site a bit due to work. But while I was away the Big Red Engine finally give up. Took her to the KW dealership with 550,000 miles. KW tore it apart due to excessive back pressure from the blow by. The head was toast, DPF filtration system shot due to heavy oil usage. Turbo was locked. The truck would regenerate every hour according to ECM printout.$ 34 K , later
I had a new inframe with the newly updated version of the over haul kit. Thanks be to God, I only had to pay out of pocket$175.00. Cummins picked up the tab because I told the rep that Cummins is aware of these issues with the ISX15 engine. 40,K miles on new inframe and she does not use any oil between oil changes @ 15K miles. Just goes to show you that all things are possible with God,

    #### im about to buy a 2014 isx with 440,000Km and im worried its not going to last long. It has a new EGR cooler and new intake manifold. DPF was recently cleaned and im getting a dyno done on it to check for blow by. Any other major symptoms you faced with this year engine at that mileage. Did you ever have issues with the fuel pump or have it rebuilt based on the stories out going on out there? or was your fuel pump fine?
