That is the worst example but the other tires aren’t completely evenly worn either. You do have to expect some wear after 78,000 miles. I don’t run any balance products but I have heard Centramatics are good.

People in this thread already told you where to take the truck for a high quality alignment. While you're at it have them explain to you how heat is built in a tire. Hint its not because of high air pressure...all mne sit at 130 cold and run about 145 hot. Never seen temps over 107* even in the Tx heat.
My money is on the alignment being out. Like said, new trucks DO NOT come aligned properly from the factory. They come "good enough".Lepton1 and Midnightrider909 Thank this. -

If you're an o/o then you dont have "home time". You make your own schedule. If my truck needs repairs, I go home and fix the truck because a repair on the road will alsways cost more.

Know a number of people that run centramatics on all wheel ends. All have very positive reports.
Heat is the detriment of any tire. Sidewall flexing is the number one cause of over heating, usually caused by under inflation, followed by over loading. Scrubbing due to alignment will generate heat at the tread cap. Unless it is very bad, usually not catastrophic. The tread cap has lots of mass in comparison to sidewalls or the underlying plies.Midnightrider909, Lepton1 and Midwest Trucker Thank this. -
Half of an inch is quite a lot for a tire, especially if it wasn't brand new, so I wouldn't wait too long before the alignment.
