Don't hold your breath on that. They want their money come he'll or high water

I say drive it. Way back when it used to be no abs and front brakes were optional

So your in a loaner, who loaned it and what if anything is this "loaner" costing you. My truck was down and in shop for almost 2 weeks. They told me it was gonna be at least another week and maybe a week and half.
After looking at loads, I rented a penske and went back to work. Yes the almost $1100 a week hurt. But I still made money, and it did not hurt as bad as sitting in $80 per night hotel for weeks not making anything.

Knew guys that took their front brake shoes and drums off. Even old trucks had a lever on dash that read " for slippery roads" or something like that. You could move it to shut air off to front brakes. Remember that? Now only one seat so the driver knows where to sit..scratch that one. JK.

A few of my dads older trucks from the 70s were like that. His 71 F model I think had the switch to turn em off

I'm lease to Landstar. The original pay is 65% of the line haul, but another BCO loaned me his truck at 45% of the line haul since mine was down. I ran from McDonough Georgia to San Antonio Texas. Picked up in Laredo and took that to Orlando Florida. 2,306 miles. After fuel, paycheck was $800. Yeah, I'd rather be in my truck making the full 65%, but this something is better than nothing.

The Larson Group ( TLG ) which is a Peterbilt dealership with numerous locations has a used parts shop/ junk yard in Springfield, Missouri... Might be worth giving them a ring to see if they have the part your looking for.

Worth a try. Kinda running out of options as the days go on.

This is one of the reasons my newest truck is a 1995. I don't have to worry about my ABS going out (along with a bunch of other stuff), because I don't have it. Sure, I have breakdowns, but most of the stuff can be had at NAPA. I also don't buy into the notion that newer trucks break down less than older ones.

    #### DEF, DPF, computerized engines and everything else on new trucks driving me BONKERS and I'm only 26!!!! Too young to be stressing this much. I guess once I eventually let Landstar go and strive for my own authority I'll snag me something old and live my days out with that. I'm not tryna get rich in this industry, I just wanna see my name on the side of my truck one day.
