Move on just be honest about what happened, Tell them the conditions and so forth, There are not going to be any points, didn't you say he didn't ticket you on it? Just the company will get the points, Not you, unless I don't understand the points system which is highly likely, I'd go looking if I was you! And keep it safe, But worrying about a flat tire on your record may get you in more troubles, so just let it be gone bys!

Nar. Like you said it looks like it just ran flat and didn't blowout or anything. You probably would have noticed it even if you weren't stopped. Poop happens just be straight with your next employer.

    You are serious?

I would venture to guess you have ZERO to worry about.

Actually no guessing, you shouldn't worry about it at all.

No I did not get a ticket just the level 2 inspection report. Drivers please remember I am new to this industry and as I stated all I hear is keep you record clean so you can move up to better companies. I have tried my best to do it right, like staying in the right hand lane and not hitting anything. I know this is not a career ender but I do not know how strict the better companies are about the drivers record. I understand I have to pay my dues out there but was worried I might have to wait another year or so before I could try for a better job than the starter companies offer. This is my first violation so I am learning how this works in the industry.

Thanks again for all the replies.

Tires go flat all the time. The world is an imperfect place. You have nothing to worry about.

Don't feel bad, man. 15 years, I had never blown a drive tire. Woke up and found a few during my pre-trips caused by debris, but had never blown one.

I've now blown two in two days, one caused by a nail, and the other crossing from VA into MD on 495...weather is causing havoc in the form of holes and exposed rebar in lots of areas.

It happens. Just keep doing those pre-trips. They'll save you a lot of headaches. Good luck!

Yes you are new to the industry. So, lets get into this CSA stuff. As drivers, we, are the single most important part of the trucking industry. Not the brokers, not the DOT, not law enforcement, not the insurance industry, not the shippers or receivers. It is US. Don't forget that. Nothing moves without the drivers driving. Nothing.

Way back when, drivers began organizing. They were Union. Teamsters. In those days, worrying about a flat tire effecting your career would have been stupid. Now you worry that some CSA score will keep you from getting hired. Where did we go wrong. I know but I won't put it out there here.

I do not know what my CSA score is. I don't care. I have destroyed two trucks. Neither my fault. 1 another got a ticket, 2 the state of Oklahoma wrote me a check. I have also hit trees, telephone poles, street lights and signs.

My point is that someday, enough drivers will be tired of the stress that is being dump into our lives and we are going to park the trucks in the middle of the interstates and shut the country down until some changes are made.

If the flat tire is noted by the dot as a violation or even just a warning on your inspection report, it will go on your record. You really have no reason to worry though; tires go flat all the time, yours just happened to be spotted by the wrong person. Drivers normally don't get hired or fired based on leaky tires, they get hired or fired for accidents, reckless driving, habitually violating hos, arriving late for appointments, arguing with management, general laziness, and a host of other bad behaviors. Breathe easy - you'll be fine.

You know... I hate being a skeptic... but I am what I am. Look at the numbers of people turning to this as a last resort... like the adage goes, "when you have them by the balls, their hearts and minds will shortly follow". Who has who by the balls? Well, if it was the drivers with the upper hand, this wouldn't even be a discussion.
