Ok Swift is not the only company doing it almost all of them do the same i got a letter 2 months ago from nebraska this and that asking me to join for lawsuit against werner i didn't reply since i don't drive for them anymore, i think it's just a waste of time because they are still doing it and they won't stop. When i use to go otr for jb hunt the qualcomm will say 600 and they told me its 550 i ask them what route to take to make it there in 550 miles never got an answer back, 50 miles shortage it was fun but good luck guys.
I got one today. worst i ever got shorted was qc said 2750 actual was 3100. FYI they didnt always have you sign that paperwork at orientation they put out a message about 6 months after i was hired telling everyone to go to a kiosk review and sign it I never did and alot of other drivers refused to sign it as well. I figure over my 175,000 paid miles I got shorted about 10% which would be 17500 * .40 = $7000 they shorted me over the year and three months I was there. But I will say I got paid more per mile and had more miles than any other company I have worked for which is why I will be back Monday morning. One big reason is they accept my military driving as experience so I started at the top of the pay scale.
Got mine today im staying in nothing to lose and Swift deserves to pay and if they we win we will get something and force swift to pay exact miles. Hell they even admit to it with that thing in kios Thats why I choose my own routes sometimes I get them but they still get me at times too
You will never get them to pay hub miles. As far as L/O's and O/O's go I'm sure there had to be payment method stated in the contract. The only basis for suit would be if they paid less than the miles calculated by that method.
I got a similar letter about DAC. I got a whole $18.98! Some got thousands. Conway and Crete IIRC pay practical miles. Figure that with an increase in the rate per mile? OTR isn't my thing. I like being home everyday. 15 months was plenty. I didn't get to see all 48. I can always go back to it. What will hurt is when it's proven that Swift charges practical miles to their customers.........
Yea. Im about 15 minutes from home so we will see if I got the letter. I about bet swift charges practical miles. I wanted to call and see ask about the rate from point a to b as if I needed something moved just of of curiosity. The practial pay vs hhmm would mean get a check vs owing as a owner op at times. This definitely help the owners ops. 10% on loaded miles on a 1000 load is 100 miles and with pay and fuel surcharge is $134 roughly depending on surcharge. on one load
Neither Swift or any large, profitable business got where they are by giving anything away. If the lawsuits result in them being forced to pay practical or hub I guarantee the rate per mile will drop and we will see no increase in pay. I don't view it as pay per mile but pay per load with the miles dispatched as nothing more than a multiplier. I make really good money. Frank
I have no problem with someone making a profit. Swift is one of the most top heavy pissin' money away companies out there. Many times they have a hard time finding their butt with both hands. IMO screwing the L/O's and company drivers is a cost effective way to cover their incompetence. Anyone have a talley on how far in debt they are? Has the stock ever done anything?
I went through almost every single state in my first month, only states I have not been to so far are the ones above NY
