Us express i have heard bad things about... but prime i have heard a lot of good things about. can anyone vouch for prime? do they hire students? do they hire at 21 or 23

That is low. US Xpress pays .38 for 8 weeks then it bumps up to .48 with hazmat.

That means you split the miles. If the truck does 6000 miles in one week each of you get paid 3000 miles @ .32cpm. A lot of people don't get it. You only get paid for half the miles because, theoretically, you only drive half the miles.

Not sure what you've heard about USX, but they treat their teams very well. They have lots of miles.

Wow the big pumpkin is shafting their team drivers big time!! I drive for USX and I'm a team driver. We both have hazmat so we get .48cpm. And teams get alot of miles. They really do cater to teams here at USX. We can run freight faster than a solo so it only makes sense to keep us moving and making them money. USX loves when you have a team partner already lined up before you even get rolling. Team drivers also 99% of the time get freight shaker Cascadias because they have alot more room and trust me you will appreciate all the extra space you can get!! Some guys don't care what they drive but I like having a new truck that is in excellent shape and clean.

O and to answer you question about prime. I have heard alot of mixed things about them. Nice equipment for sure but heard they push a lease on you quite hard. Went through orientation with USX with a guy who just left prime and he said he couldn't take the constant harrasment to lease. USX hasn't asked me or anyone else I know of to lease at all. They offer it but don't bother you about it. They just let you know it's a option available to you and leave it at that.

Finished the 3 week training at Green Bay. Team Mate and I will be heading to Sioux Falls next Wednesday to pick up our 2012 Cascadia. Then we're off and running. I'll detail more later. All is good.
