I use the truckstop shower towels all the time and I'm still alive. Don't sweat it. But its wise to pack your own. For example, the Bensalem Travel Plaza, about the only truckstop in Philadelphia anymore, has a free shower with the truck parking fee but no towels unless you rent them.

I would highly recommend using your own. Years ago when I first started, I found out that they are not always washed properly and today with bedbugs and such I do not take chances. Ya never know what may be crawling in the fabric..

I thought truckers were a tough bunch of folks?

To test a TS towel, wet a portion and smell it. If it was not washed, only dried. The funk will be reignited...

I found these at Walmart, and I loved them.
But recently I have not been able to find them.

I think they are a thing of the past.

they are not available everywhere. Try local food stores like meijer or others. If not then try ordering online.

The major truck stops all provide towels, but some of the mom-n-pop's don't.
    Terminals, at least Swift... nope.
But then, I make it a point to never shower at a terminal - unless I am terminally filthy. They don't clean the showers after every use like the major truck stops do.

T/A's are the best showers (aside from the Little America's, which include a large bath tub). They provide 2 towels plus a cloth mat. They usually also have the best shower heads.
The others will usually give you an extra towel if you ask.

As far as using a towel that someone else has used...
Please! You do it at home all the time.
And are you so sure you are really 'cleaner' than the last person? (I know, there are some really gross people out there.)
And they get washed between uses, in a washing machine with soap. It's not like you are walking in and getting a wet and dirty towel.

This is my ranking order of showers:
    Home
    Little America
    T/A
    Flying J
    Petro
    Pilot
    Love's
    Secondary TS

And if I have been without a shower for over a week I 'might' consider showering in a terminal.
Might, maybe, if I know I can't get to something better very soon.
And even then, if I have wet wipes I'll go with that for another day or two.

The Petro in West Memphis has a guy on stand-by in the lot that will wash your back then wash your front as well.

BTW - When in West Memphis, bring your own towel and the burn anything that touched the ground

I have only see one Little America (WY I80) Always see the "marble showers" sign and think I should stop there but after the first time I blew out an airbag going across there horribly beaten down lot with the funky parking arrangement I just keep on going to Ft Bridger and use that one. But I do agree TA's at the top of my list mostly because every one I have ever showered at smelled like straight up bleach. (Towels and shower itself.)
