I have a little 30 dollar desk printer, fax, scanner etc. It has a USB port. If you turned it on and put anything into that USB port there is a existing script in code that will instruct the printer to start printing right away the contents of that memory stick without regard to ink status or paper capacity. It will attempt to print the entire thumb drive.

I keep a microSD card with a USB reader for it. On that card is a couple of important papers in digital form and under encryption. It will take a computer 30 years to brute force both the encryption key and the pass key to get access to understand what is actually present.

A friend has a vehicle stolen at the dollar store a month ago. In it was all his papers, his address and worse his keys and everything. Medicines too which included narcotics.

He felt exposed to a threat of additional visits from the bad guys seeking more of the narcotics in his house, since they have the keys to everything including information on everything. (His clinic, patient numbers etc refill dates at what pharmacy etc.)

It is fortunately for him that the thieves were also idiots. They drive his truck witth a head light rusted out in our area and were recaptured when pulled over for a equipment violation (No headlight) and thus discovered in their crime.

but in Atlanta, he was with in the state lines, and maybe there, gun carrying is allowed.

Here we go with X1's tall tells again. There is no $30 printer out there that reads and executes code from a USB drive. Heck, there are no $500 printers that do that.....

As for bypassing the ink level warning, no cheap printer mfg will put in a way to bypass it. They use the shaver model, they (basically) give the printer away and sell the ink for a profit. Heck that's why there are chips in cartridges now. It's to prevent refilling..... (There are ways around that, but that's it's there for.)

Lots of today's truckers wear sweatpants, flip flops and a dirty tee shirt. I however, prefer polo shirt, dress pants and Louis Vuitton shoes.

Do a search, it's been debated to death and tends to get a thread locked from the arguments of the anti gun and people that prefer to protect themselves crowd.
