Drivewyze doesn't use sensors, of the scales that are authorized sites, they have a Drivewyze interface system that ties in with the scales software that tells them if you've been given the bypass. It uses your cell/ tablet data plan and location services to detect when you're within 2 miles of a scale. If it's a Drivewyze site the app will report to the DW system that you're closing in and basically asking for bypass approval, typically it will give you the bypass or pull in message at 1 mile. Obviously it's all dependent on your safety rating, and whether the scale is targeting PP or DW. I get far more bypass with DW than I ever did with PP and our safety rating has never gone above 5% since I've been with them.
