Same here, Injun. When I'm smoking in my vehicle, the window is down. When the car is sitting, all my windows are cracked for fresh air/ventilation. I won't smoke around people that don't smoke, but if I'm outside smoking and a non smoker comes up to me, I won't stop. I was there smoking when they came seeking me out.

My BP is in the low normal range, my pulse is normal, my lungs are completely healthy, according to Xrays and the doc. I can do physical labor without getting winded, and I don't miss work due to illness, unlike my non smoking co-workers.

It's my belief that smokers are better able to deal with the temperature extremes as we are required to be outside in them to smoke. I sit in offices and look at the non smokers who wear 3 layers of clothing, gloves and a winter coat because they are freezing.

I wonder what people will do when they make cigs/tobacco illegal, and taxes are raised due to all the lost revenue from tobacco sales.

I have no statistics, but I would guess there are more people killed worldwide by drunk drivers than by smokers, yet alcohol is acceptable.

I hold no ill will nor do I detest non smokers, yet they seem to detest me. Seems hypocritical *shrugs*

Today one out of every five people who die in the US dies because of smoking. Smoking tobacco is responsible for more deaths than cocaine, heroin, alcohol, fire, automobile accidents, homicides, suicides, and AIDS combined That amounts to about 430,000 people who die needlessly every year.....1,200 people who die every day.... because of their addiction to cigarettes. It's like having several completely full jumbo jets crash every day, killing all aboard!

Tobacco, in its natural form, is no more unhealthy than (I hate to say this) marijuana. Just reading your correlation between what I said and children being encouraged to smoke tells me you are one of those dope-headed Liberals who not only wants to tell everybody else what to do, but most likely wants to legalize pot for "medicinal" purposes....ostensibly because it's "healthier" than manufactured chemicals used by the medical profession for the same purposes y'all want to get high for. Now. Regarding the O/P with the rotten attitude toward his or her fellow human to begin with. If you don't like smoke, don't hang around with smokers. You have, of your own volition, chosen a career field populated by a lot of people who happen to smoke. You have been given several options on how to avoid a truck you find beneath your standards.

You b**** about cigarette smoke (and I agree, it makes a mess inside a canned up vehicle...which is why I have an ionizing air cleaner and keep my windows down when I smoke) but I'm not hearing a peep from you about the chicken bones, McDonald's wrappers, old french fries, spilled pop/coffee, general greasy grime and nasty unwashed funky butt odor found in a huge number of "non-smoking" trucks. What do you do in that case? Go on an internet board and b**** to your non-smoking, unbathed, jerkwater buddies? Or get trash bags, a little brush-broom/dustpan kit, 409 and Febreeze to make it liveable?

Where exactly do they get these statistics anyways? How do they narrow down that these deaths are from smoking? If someone gets lung cancer and they are a smoker is it automatically attributed to cigarettes even though they were exposed to asbestos, radiation or worked at KFC frying chicken (yes, breathing fumes from fried foods can cause cancer). I just find the numbers to be a little skewed towards people with an agenda. I mean not all people who have emphysema, lung cancer, high blood pressure, heart conditions and similar diseases that can be caused by smoking get them from smoking. If so then only smokers would have those diseases (but in the case a non smoker gets them its because of second hand smoke, naturally).

I quit smoking a few years ago. It was hard, the only reason I did was because I started dating a non smoker and they didn't like it. It's not so easy to quit smoking either so all the people that say "I've managed to not smoke all my life" don't know what they're taking about. It's not easy to quit once you've started because nicotine is more addictive than heroine. But to be honest with you, fast food and poor diet probably kills more people per year tha cigarettes actually do especially when you think about the fact that most diseases that smoking is blamed for shares most of it's victims with the obese.

I would rather be in a truck that smelled like smoke than one that smelled like smelly ##### and b.o.
