Does it matter if i get my learner's permit by myself before starting company sponsored school.?

Get the permit its real simple .Also grab a log book from a near by truckstop they are couple bucks at most and learn the basics of Hours Of Service. Maybe start logging everything you do in a day. Also get a Randmcnally paper map at Walmart and learn to read a Map, so many people dont even know North ,South, East, West. Those are some simple things that can put you ahead of the game.
