DOT knocks on your door at rest area.. on ramp etc. and you do this? is it illegal?

i sleep in the nude... they disturb my sleep because they love making out lives harder. I pull the curtain down and im totally naked.. is this illegal? i just wanna get back at em. seeing my greatness maybe they will stop to think next time.. we should all do this let your flag fly for freedom

I was told that DOT cannot disturb your 10hr or 34hr break. That is your time to rest. They can write you citations for bad lights, whatever, so on and leave them on your truck.

 

How are they going to write YOU a citation if they don't know who YOU are?

 

If its equipment related they will just write it to the truck, fix it ticket kinda thing.

If your sleeping, I cant imagine why they would write you a ticket if your in a safe space that allows that.

 

You've been told wrong. While CVSA does recommend not disturbing.the driver it has zero force of law. Basically if you are on public property (rest area, on ramp, etc.) you are fair game. If you are on private property, even publicly accessable, the rules change a little. Mostly the officer has to observe law breaking or get the owners permission.

 

And that is one of the best reasons to plan your time wisely to always stop at a truck stop or other privately owned place.
