    This is America. You are employed "at will." That means you have the right to work or not work for a company. You cannot be compelled to work for anyone (child support not included). Of course they don't have to hire you. If you are offered a job you don't want, don't take it. Also, the rate of pay is something you don't have to agree to. Everything is negotiable. Remember we are all union members. Just sometime we are in a union of 1.

    As to Oil prices. Oil is a renewable resource as oil it being produced every day. The sun shines and micro organisms convert that energy into solids. When the organism dies and shinks to the bottom of the ocean that process turns into oil. As long as the sun shines, we will have oil.

    Driver Leader - Driver Manager is just the desk jockeys padding their resume. Sounds like you managed to do something other then answer the phones. Which most of them have trouble doing anyway.

    All ours do is hand out pickups. I don't need them for anything else.

    Yep. That's basically all any of them do. The actual dispatching, what truck loads what, is a couple steps above their paygrade.
