I won a bid in Richie Bros "Truck planet", the truck is in Michigan and I have to bring it to Southern California, I have the insurance already, my question is, did you even went inside the scales? I don't know if Richie bros going to issue the temp plates, but since I'll be out of commerce, do I have to abide by the HOS rules with a 18k bobtail? When you went to the DMV did they charge you per every state or just a one time fee for the permit?

Non trucking liability insurance, bobtail coverage, maybe a temp tag if your buying from a dealer, be sure you have a bill of sale and or title, current inspection.. Or contact company you're leasing to and ask for documentation to get truck home. OR Use Personal Conveyance. Scales I never stop when under P.C. Yes I am an O/O. I'm sure there are some that will say that's not legal but 43 years can't be too wrong. No tickets.

Hi, I am going through a similar situation. I'm relocating to Texas from California and I plan to do it before end of the year. Right now my truck is registered under my company. But I plan to transfer it to my personal once in TX. I'm an intrastate carrier (dump truck) in CA. I have the title to the truck. Should I drive the truck to TX under my CA business or fill out the back of title and drive it under my personal. Truck has CA plates and I have a CA license as well, would that be an issue with authorities if I drive it under my personal name but plates registered to business? Do I get trip permits beforehand to avoid any issues.
In both cases I plan to travel over the weekend and during the night.
Thanks in advance!
