Or "Trucks use lower gear" when approaching a mountain downgrade.

I missed a few scale signs myself but their are usually 2-3 before a scale
I HAVE almost blown that one in missouri west of St.Louis on the 44 that is going eastbound. Its kinda on the shoulder on a curve.

I run the scale all the time, back in the mid 90's I was told by a dot officer running a scale house "I dont care if you blow by the scales , but if you get in my line and then get out im running you down"....

I blew a couple when I was a rookie. It involved fog banks though. I just held my hands up and shrugged my shoulders like oops! They just gave me a dirty look.

They pretty much know if you work for a training company and are learning. The experienced drivers go around the scales if they have something to hide.

Eventually you'll learn where they are all at. In the meantime keep an eagle eye and actually read your Truckers Rand McNally. The red dots are scale houses. Most of them are strategically placed as ports of entry into a state and are near state lines. In case there is a big city at the state line they are on the out skirts. St. Louis is a good example. VA I-81 is another good example. They strategically place it in the middle of the state in between other interstates. Learn them and know them. It's part of your training.

You got lucky. They aren't nice if the run you down. Your trainer might have dropped you at the next truck stop. Relax and pay attention to your surroundings and the signs.

Do you have prepass....if you do are you sure you had a red light...if you do have prepass and you ran it they normal send a letter to the company nothing major if they where that worried about it they would have come after you...been there done that but not by mistake...lol

I'm pretty sure we've all missed a scale at one point.... Mine was a "never open" scale in WA state. Looked down to change the radio and "oops, that sign said open...."

As a polite heads up, WA state it's "failure to obey traffic device", a moving violation.
