It would be relatively simple to create a wireless dual level system at the nose of the trailer that looks at both the lift axis and the tilt or "lean" axis and reports back to the cab receiver and it's beeping when it's raised above 10 degrees or leans more than 5 degrees (to warn of potential fall-over scenarios during dumps on unlevel or soft base sites)

But it would also be simple to check mirrors on occasion. And you know that rig had to "not feel right" at highway speed.

    Dumb aszs

I too thought how interesting it was that the one filming happened to have a bad windshield. Probably why they didnt stop to render assistance.
I did a youtube search and found out why the video is silent, Expletives from the rider in the rednecks pickup.

Those signs are indeed quality. A devastating clothesline by the champ! Mercy! He's done. 1...2...3.... it's over.

I'm going to guess he doesn't look in his mirrors or he would have seen the body raised

I delivered to an INDOT yard that had no power, no phones, and the road was blocked. Why? One of their drivers pulled out with the bed raised, got into the overhead lines, and pulled down 4 poles.

This is not the first video I have seen of a dump truck driving down the highway with its bed raised up (and subsequently crashing into something).

Can someone enlighten me as to why/how this happens? Does the driver seriously not know it is raised? Is it possible for it to "accidentally" raise while driving? I always assumed the bed is locked somehow while driving. I have never driven a dump truck so I am not in the know. I find it hard to believe they would do it on purpose, but I find it even harder to believe any truck driver would literally NEVER check his mirrors...
