Each states requirements? Where do you find them?

    When i mentioned this very thing about buying a rand mcnally atlas to a new driver several know it all's told me the rand mcnally gps was all you need :dontknow:

    Thanks for all the replies. The reason why i asked is i live in pa and i know ny has a heavy highway tax that pa doesn’t have. That got me thinking how do i know what each state requires before crossing borders and getting fined.

    Someone usually runs under another trucking company. If they never run their own truck before. They will get you all the registration and special permit like NY

    Absolutely it’s best to check each state individually, and even that is flawed. For instance MI code 257.719 on their legislative website shows the KPRA to be still on the books. Can’t even trust the state govt sites.

    While some parts of the site may state there is still a kpra, the actual code is correct...

    Absolutely. I was in no way disputing what you stated, rather agreeing that simply looking it up on the internet doesn’t always work. One can even get contradictory information from the same source. Even the MI DOT site still shows it on some truck loading and dimension brochures and not on others. Some are dated others or not. Happy to see though that MI joined the ranks of the enlightened.
