I once lost a set of keys on a vehicle. The locksmith who happened to be with the dealer at that time had to go through Japan to get the keys.

For the time they were very expensive keys. But nothing like some of the keys out there today.

On some macks just need a bic pen put into the starter solenoid and she fires up just so you are in neutral. Otherwise shes a going to run you over. My first one had that feature. Keys were just a minor issue in those days.

Fast forward into the 90's certain tractors suffered a flaw where a fist applied 4 inches above the door knob would open it if you put a pressure on it just so. They engineered that little problem away soon enough. In the mean time I had keys everywhere three or four of them including in the truck so.. *Shrugs. The thing is if you walked into a field of tractors with your key, every certain number of them would open up to you with it.
