I've been hearing this for years, and the people who've said it have been dealers. Perhaps it's true this time, but I'm not holding my breath
Seeing how MY2024 and MY2027 are the next steps of emission stuff it would make sense that they’d do it before MY2024. I think they should just keep building them and pass the fines along to the purchaser. Any guy that wants one bad enough would be willing to pay $30k+ on top of the purchase price.
The T800 was supposed to be long gone 10 years ago. Still one of the best selling trucks around. Haven't seen very many T880's with a winch deck on them.
Supposedly KW is going to have to update their narrow cabs to the digital dash sometime if they’re going to keep building them. The digital dash doesn’t talk to old engines, and it’s a step towards keeping the trucks roughly the same as they left the factory, which is what the gov wants. And some of it will come down to how many trucks they want to build or how many they can build based on their point level. My friend that runs tanks ordered 2 990’s because he could get a firm build date for them in 2023, but couldn’t get an answer from Pete or KW about getting 389’s or W9’s.
On the other hand, KW sells a lot more T680s for every T800 or W900 they produce versus the 579 to the 389. You see more 389s than W900s on any given day, but you will see more T680s than 579s.
I just wish they'd bring back the R model Mack and cassette tapes.. unfortunately that'll never happen though.
I can hook ya up with some 8 tracks and a underdash tape player Give me a couple weeks I can find ya a R model too But you might has to freshen it up alittle
