Electronics electronics electronics..... When I started driving a lot of the coops still used the manual method, they drove or walked down and flipped the sign by hand, some had a rope to help slide it from left to right depending on what they were doing. Only hammered passed a scale once that I remember.

    Meh.

I have my fairshare of bypasses every now and then... the IL weightstations on I55/I80 are usually civilians working in there... so I tend to bypass it almost 90% of the time unless I hear there's a full grown in there and a chase car.

However, my luck stopped when I decided to blow by that Janesville, WI scale on I39...........thought I was in the clear until I see lights 2 miles down, LOL. Officer comes out grunting and says " WHAT DA HELL YA THINK YOUR DOING SON?" ............... told him flat out, "My luck ran out I guess. " He literally died in tears and said.. "wow, that's a new one. You get brownie points for being honest but I should really just take you back and give you a full level 1 with our rare brake inspections but i'm just going to let you off with a verbal warning........next time, you wont be so lucky.".

    A verbal warning! in WISCONSIN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    Here's the hammer....
Needless to say, I think he really took it to the heart and over the course of last year into this year... I have received from that very scale in janesville i39.... 3x level 3 inspections, 2x level 1's and he was there for 4 out of 5 inspections and supervised them each inspection..... he had three rookies working on my truck for those full level 1 inspections ... havent went back into that scale since.. started to take routes to avoid it. My company pretty much told me, avoid this scale or go lease on somewhere else. lol

anyone who accidentally blows by a weigh station is way too relaxed. I don't care who you are or what your equipment is your in violation if they want you to be.

I know they have one coming into ny from pa on 81 North and pa has a coop on the south bound side. You can avoid them by taking exit 230 (last in pa) follow signs for rt 7 north and hop back on 81 at exit 1. Do the reverse of that if your heading south
