Sometimes you have to stop the truck and start all over again. But creeping up to a light, I`m usually in neutral, and when it changes, use my RPM`s to get it in gear and go. Sometimes, At a low speed, The truck will jump forward, but never had a real problem with that. The only problem I had doing this is, the impatient 4 wheelers behind me at the light. But once its Green, Im rolling.

Now backing up to a dock with no clutch, can be done. Once you are lined up, Put in reverse, foot down on gas pedle, turn key, Instantly you will have to be prepared to hit the gas slightly, and be in Neutral. So you will be rolling backwards but in neutral. You might at the end bump the dock a little harder than normal, but you can control this with your proper amount of braking. If all fails pull forward enough, where you have room to repeat this. Also, make sure your doors are open, before you back in. LOL

If you are going to have to back into an area that is limited with the proper space to pull forward with. I would suggest find a spotter, or a local day cab driver, and explain the problem. Most of the time you will have help.

Bottom line, you made your delivery.

Yessir, that is what we are paid to do.
I remember when I was at shipper's dock, had to back DOWN into hole to dock. I was afraid after getting loaded, starter would not be strong enough to pull truck uphill as it started in gear. But , it was. _____

My old FWD had an hydraulic release bearing and the master cyl went bad in Boston... drove back to Milwaukee without being able to stop except on a down hill... just threw $$$ at the toll takers...

All the way from Castroville, California to Arkansas. Backing up to the dock at a lettuce cooler was the hardest part yet that's not saying crossing all the scales was a cake walk.

I told my boss if it ever happened again I would be calling him after the truck was in the nearest shop being repaired, that I would not give him the opportunity telling me to try and make it home.
