Rarely fuel at the majors ... the last time I was there was to pop into the Loves to use the transflo. Then since I was there, I went across the street and grabbed a sandwich.

Last time I went through there I heard a driver request a hot baloney sandwich with extra sauce. I decided to keep on going.

If you think about the great food culture of the USA should revolve around the unique institution called BBQ. Anyone try the guy who has a stand next to the TA at Duncan, SC exit 68 I think? I've never tried it but I've been close. Why don't these clowns who run these truckstop chains use some of their imagination and introduce good BBQ into truckstop fayre. Surely, it can't be difficult.
I never eat at truck stops because the quality of food is very poor but I would have a change of heart if BBQ was available. I'm from the UK and I'm absolutely amazed that this genre of food has not taken hold in my home country. I've discovered some great BBQ joints while on the road, but alas, few are adjoined to a truckstop. Let's hope it changes.

Everybody knows that Texas has the best BBQ, don't they? I'll stop and try the TN BBQ next time I'm passing thru Jackson, but usually if I'm traveling on I 40 in TN I'm going to be running down into TX and it's only a few more hours to go to get the good stuff....jus sayin
