UPDATE:
Hey ya’ll just wanted to give an update, been living in a hotel for 11 days now, I still dont have a truck assigned and have been on the waiting list for 7 days now, I’ve called everday about it. Now, I’m no rocket scientist, but I feel like its a bit redundant to have an experienced driver with a clean record to be sitting around for a full week. Their excuse is that they “just dont have that many tanker capable trucks here in springfield” now, it would only take 2 days to get a truck here from their more “tanker friendly” terminal in pittston, PA. I am considering having a meeting with the director of leasing today to talk to him about this, because I don’t think it’s very $$$ smart for this company to pay me $65 a day that I stay in this hotel room, on top of paying for my hotel room at $64 a day for 11 days. Just a heads up, if you come here to do the tanker division, expect a very long way to be assigned a truck, hopefully I can be the one who has to suffer to make a difference because this is a really long time, I can understand four or five days, but a full week is just preposterous. Will update you when I have more information, hammer down y’all!

UPDATE:
Well, I had my talks with some personel and they got a truck ready for me today (Finally!) I got put into a 2019 Peterbilt 579 with only 29,000 miles on it, I’m not a big fan of the newer pete’s but I’ll live. Looking forward to getting my first load out, have to get a few leaks fixed with the transit heater first, and we should be ready to rock-n-roll!!tscottme, skinnytrucker and intrepidor Thank this. -
How much a week for the truck??
-
Columbia with s shotgun load of milk for my 1 hour test drive. I explained I had never pulled a loaded trailer being fresh out of cdl school with maybe a total of 5 hours driving
They sent me into the S curve in Grand Rapids Michigan than exited to some giant steep hill with a stoplights on it.
Next day they sent me out hauling a easy local route. Had me shadow another driver the next week for out of state delivery

@Ruckie I don’t have to pay per week for the truck, I’m a company man
After having to go back-and-forth to the shop four times because they couldn’t get the lines for the transit heater set properly, I’m finally out on the road and at my first pick up right now and here a day early LOL, luckily they are going to load me tonight and I will be on my way to the destination tomorrow am! 690 miles for my first load with the tanker gang!

what was up with the lines? Air Bound or leaking? Have yet to run a intranist heat
-
The trailer I had was using a hot water heater pressure relief valve, which is what prime uses on all of their tanker trailers… And that thing kept blowing, I had to get a common pipe plug fitting to keep it from leaking coolant everywhere once pressure was built in the lines… Definitely a poor choice for equipment to save a few bucks on their end, it seems this is the year that they are finally getting kicked in the butt by that decision because a lot of trailers are having that problem now, but that’s not the only issue, the heater I have now originally had the lines installed improperly, we got that fixed, but now I’m having the issue of the heater cutting off after 10 minutes of operation I generally tend to have lots of bad luck like this all the time and everything that happens to me in life so I’m pretty used to it, but still it is frustrating, other than that I have been enjoying driving during the day in the tanker division, will probably be pretty low on miles this week just because it’s my first week out and they like to give you softballs. Heading to the receiver of my second load now, well update when I discover new things out here, hammer down y’all!

UPDATE:
So this one of those receivers that uses the Christmas tree fitting for air up top, To my surprise, none of the joints on the fitting was tightend down, and I had to tighten each joint on the fitting with a wrench before being able to let them start pumping, not sure how common it is for those to be a loose all the way around, but figured I would share anyways, Any experienced tanker vets feel free to share your pro-tips!! -

UPDATE:
Hey gang how’s it going, just wanted to let everyone know I just cleared my first week and we got 2285 miles, Definitely not the best, but it was my first week out and I was expecting to get less than that. We also had an 18 hour hold up for an expired DOT inspection sticker on a trailer to get done at TA (thanks to other drivers at prime for not caring!!)I’m sure I could’ve got a few more miles and if that would not have gotten my way. It was a crazy learning curve up in New Jersey for how they run the tank wash as well lol. Will post more as it comes my way guys, thanks for tuning in, and thank you guys for checking out my YouTube channel, I am constantly updating the material so make sure you check back! Hammer Down!
