Correct me if I'm wrong but I think Tennessee doesn't have a state tax. Last I heard YRC in Nashville is hiring anyone with a beating heart

No state income tax. Isn't that awesome! Hopefully they still are hiring when I move there.

What how I have been MIA lol
@Squonk i had brisket last night with with some ribs... was ok but I got it from the store, nearest good BBQ from me is over 20 miles away.
@Cool35 It must be that bad in CA. I thought the girls their age wouldnt want to move away from their friends and all. I know my parents talk about moving and my sister freaks out lol. I know UPSF was overnite and motor cargo before the buyout. Boy is UPSF messed up though, one of the supervisors at a terminal I go to has told me about how it was decent at Overnite before UPSF, then they got rid of everyone to bring in their own pretty much. Dont know much about Southeastern but from what I have seen on here they are decent. YRC has "forgot" to call me at times as well, but now all I do is just file a grievance, today they finally got me on break
@Radman are you serious? They overhire so they take your freight away... that sounds more like horse manure to me. If your got more senority as well thats even bigger BS. I wouldnt mind owning a truck, but too many headaches for me lol. I got one now, and if only I can find a way to permanatly keep her mouth shut.
@Cenutryclass your yard in trenton has CWTL trucks there, quite a few actually. I still think its BS to sub out freight because its cheaper. If anything have them use CWTL to at least keep the money within the company.
@skinnytrucker wish NY was state tax free, will never happen with our nazi governor

Cool. I think the first time I worked at a Teamster barn was in about 1976, and I THINK I made around 9 bucks an hour working casual. That was at Yellow Freight in Marietta Georgia. I THINK that was Marietta, hell I don't know for sure where I am at half the time right now, let alone way back then. I worked at Consolidated a lot later on in the 1980s. I never got to drive except in the yard, spotting trailers. Always wanted to. Sort of one of those things, I got tied up in another trade because that is what came up for me at the time and just stayed there. I'm retired now. I have great memories though, the Teamster guys were really nice to me. I mentioned this on another post, but I won't ever forget the time I had a picket up on a company in the Sheet Metal Union that had gone rat. A Consolidated driver wouldn't cross it and those guys had to walk way across the parking lot, across the street and up the hill carrying heavy metal panels about twenty foot long, big ones, double walled, and thickly insolated. They worked like dogs. That was so funny, me and the driver just standing there watching them. lol -
