I did and I don't see the wheels falling off or the brakes failing.

I see it is old, it has an oil leak, the reflective tape is missing and other things but nothing that speaks of being unsafe.

I bet some of us have driving a lot worse.

I guess it is my point of view, a person without the knowledge of knowing what's what telling us that he is in an old beat up truck to take a road test in and everyone assuming he knows what he's talking about seems to be bothersome. I think he is looking for an easy road test where there is little work to prove skills, maybe I'm wrong in thinking the road test is too easy?

I say take the test again, you only have to do it once to pass. If you know what you did wrong, try to fix it with some practice but don't assume life is driving a new truck that is in tip top shape.

What I'm saying is the DMV is suppose to be all about safety and following the law to the letter.I'm only going by what the OP said and it may not be as bad as what he described. There's a good chance this tester dont know anymore then the OP does and goes by the point sheet on his or her clip board. If the OP thinks he's not going to pass then he won't.I would talk to the school about more learning because if he does fail he's going to have to wait a couple months and then he will forget everything he was taught in school.Otherwise he's going to have to pay the school and still have no CDL.But he needs a positive attitude.

Go and take the test again, you said that you have 3 tries to pass it, before you have to wait 2 months, and this will only be your 2nd attempt. This time, you know what to inspect. Give it your best shot, you'll probably pass it this time. And, if you don't pass it the 2nd time, then I'd go back to the CDL school, and demand some more time behind the wheel.
    Anyways, Good luck.

Meant to say "you know what to expect" not "you know what to inspect" sorry about that.

That's too bad. I remember when I took my test, I was grinding the crap out of the transmission. The inspector didn't care just as long as I wasn't free wheeling up to a stop.

^^^^^ Same here~! I got grandfathered in, but had to Roadmaster it (a quickie at their expense) to go with FedEx in '03..... after 2 other OTR companies. I drove better than the trainer, and yep....as long as I didn't "fudge/free-wheel" the stop for the "test" ... i was off and running again. He wanted to know did I want to finish the backing training, and maybe sign on with them... I can DO it... but I know I can't teach it.. No way. I hear ya, @Skate-Board . We kinda do that sometimes anymore, but hey..... LoL~!
