Public safety is compromised when you drive haphazardly, potentially hurting others as a result. How does Not wearing a seat belt jeopardize the safety of others?

Falling off the seat? What's the likelihood of that?
I said, they made it a law and it is what it is.
I wanted to know what the implications might be. It looks like there could be a problem when applying for a dollar general job or Tyson foods job, then for 3 years shows on your psp or whatever, it will be frown upon by a Schneider or Hirshbach recruiter. All right, that's bad enough and good to know. I have no choice but live with that now.
Other than that I think I can skip all this Swift Transportation Safety Department science. I am old enough, with many years and millions of miles on the road, to be convinced now that not wearing a seat belt is somehow as bad as follow too close or improper lane change violations. That's brilliant. Nobel Prize for whoever at FMCSA arrived at that conclusion.

    Iamoverit Thanks this.

That's a good question. Or better yet, how many got ejected through a windshield of a cmv? Oh wait a minute. Ive seen it once in one of those movies with Sylvester Stallone but never in real life. Speaking of fantasy world, I've never seen a black dog like Patrick Swayze did in his movie either.
Save me your moral coaching. I already feel like I got DUI or something to that effect.

Weren't your stomach ever distressed by one of those deliciously tasting but otherwise greasy and disgusting foods you grab and go and then down the road all you can think of is a toilet seat? Unbuckling is kinda relief if not a must, ain't it?

Just think when I was growing up people could decide for themselves if they wanted to wear seatbelts. Today the government is protecting you from yourself. Plus they can write tickets for something that was not illegal before.

Amazing how childish some so called professionals are.

I heard all kinds of bull to justify not wearing it from drivers who were caught, some were my own drivers but many many others who just don't get it.

    Wear the seat belt.

If you don't like it, then run for congress, and change it by introducing a bill to make it optional for truck drivers.

Until then wear the seat beat.

It's only a matter of getting caught or not when you forget to put it on. It's on par with forgetting a wallet and failing to present a driver's license, that's csa points too. Things like that happen and will continue to happen. That's a human nature. Other than that, in either case, I don't see a moral harm.
I can accept to be at fault but what I find unacceptable is their csa assigned weight.
But is Not like deliberately tailgating an old lady, for which btw they assign only 5 pts.

And the excuse is simple and true, they, seat belts, are cumbersome and uncomfortable, and I won't fall off the seat unless I go into a ditch.

Gotta know what the company rules are too. But yeah seat belt infractions are easy to avoid. I can't see it costing anyone their current job but like you said potential employers aren't overlooking anything for now.

I'm not here to give you a moral coaching man. I only answered your questions. You decide how you want do things. I only say it's empty calorie dialogue because it's a law that will never be changed.

Oh yeah you won't need to wear a seat belt then because at that point you'll need to go to the truck stop and drop a dookie lol
